The 4th and final incarnation of Purple. After debuting some new songs in late 2003 and 2004, the band went on hiatus as Travis's personal problems worsened, culminating in an appearance on Intervention in 2005. The album was finally scrapped in 2006 as the concept for the 4th Days of the New album evolved into Tree Colors, with multiple tracks from this era being reworked for Tree Colors.
- Late 2003Travis leaves rehab and embarks on another solo tour, debuting more new material live
- Jan 31st, 2004Days of the New parts with Interscope Records and states that 50+ songs have been recorded for Purple, giving it a release date for Q3/Q4 2004
- January 2004Purple officially begins "pre-production"
- July 24th, 2004Days of the New plays it's first show marketed as a full band in a year, debuting completed full-band versions of tracks intended for Purple
- Fall 2004Purple misses it's projected release date as Travis's drug addiction worsens; Days Of The New goes on hiatus
- February 2005Travis appears on Intervention
