Buck was born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up in North Nashville. Around the age of 12, he began rapping. A few years later, he performed for Brian "Baby" Williams, co-founder of Cash Money, which led to him becoming an affiliate of Cash Money & being in the group UTP. In mid-late 2002 he left both and signed to G-Unit Records, and due to Yayo's incarceration, he was put into the main G-Unit roster.
