At just 18, Sheff G began taking music seriously. Growing up in Flatbush, Brooklyn, he was exposed to gang culture early on, affiliating with the 83 (Eight Trey) Gangsta Crips. His experiences in the streets heavily influenced his lyrics and overall style. During this time, Brooklyn drill was starting to take shape, and Sheff was right in the middle of it.
