Travis Scott founded Cactus Jack Records in 2017, and in February 2018 Sheck Wes was the first permanent signee. Don Toliver joined the collective on August 6, 2018, days afrer the release of ASTROWORLD. JACKBOYS is the collective's first collaborative compilation album. The project was first teased by Travis in an interview on October 3, 2019, and Don tweeted the album's title the following day.
